Kobus Moller, the world renowned wildlife artist,
is in the process of building an energy efficient house
at Hartebeespoort Dam, Gauteng.
The
building includes expanded polystyrene walls, double
glazing and the TASS slab system on all levels of this
multi level structure including the flat roof.
The
building is on a steeply sloping hill and TASS was used
not only for its thermal insulating properties but also
as it was easy to erect on an extremely complex site
and floor plan.
When
complete this house will be one of the first in the
country that has made full use of a range of products
to provide a fully energy efficient solution and where
expanded polystyrene has played a major role including
the ICF (insulated concrete form) walls and TASS floor
and roof slabs.
